I've been making a video about a puppy mill rescue that happened on March 10. Please watch the video. Get angry. Call Riverside Animal control and voice your outrage. Two Tiny Seniors Dying for New Home

Duchess (A1014940) is a spayed Dachshund, approximately 8-yrs-old, who is blind. Duchess has been in the shelter since March 8 and you can imagine how scared she must be surrounded by cement walls, barking dogs, and not being able to identify what is going on around her. How great it would be if she had a pillow to lie on and a lap to curl up on in a home or apartment where she could feel safe and secure.

Pepper (A1014667) is in the same run as Duchess. She is a spayed 10-yr-old Terrier who has been in the shelter since March 4. My friend was able to get Pepper out of the cage, and she was okay with being picked up. Although she shook from fear while in my friend's lap, she allowed my friend to look at her teeth, touch her all over, etc. without any negative response. She is missing some teeth, is thin, and is missing about a third of her hair. After getting a chance to walk around, when called back, Pepper jumped back up into the lap, snuggled, and gave a gentle kiss. Pepper likely has several more years in which she could be someone's loving companion. Hopefully, there is a person who has love they would be willing to share. I'm a chicken. It's really hard for me to call the shelter and ask if the dog with the "No Picture Available" icon was adopted or killed. So I don't. I hope for the best.

Good natured and affectionate she weighs approximately 20 pounds. She gets along with children and other dogs and will make an outstanding pet for a senior citizen or family living in an apartment.

Kobe is an adorable 7 year old, male, black chihauhau who is neutered. He is up for adoption but is at very high risk of being pu down any day because his leg needs to be amputated. His paw was run over by a car on Tuesday nite March 3rd in the Mt. Washington area between Marmion Way and Glenalbyn. He has been in the North Central Shelter ever since. He is otherwise a healthy little guy, full of life!!!!

This delightful 2 year old neutered male white Chihuahua mix came into the shelter as a stray on February 18th. Weighing approximately 14 pounds, he is super friendly to other people and other dogs. He has a slight case of cherry eye in his left eye which can be easily cared for. With his engaging personality and wonderful temperament he will be the perfect family pet in either an apartment or private home.
